How can I register?

On the login page On the login page, you can use the link «register» to submit a registration request.

Right after sending the form, you will get an e-mail which has to be confirmed. After having successful confirmation, we will check your application..

Your application will be checked within a few days to ensure that no learners have access to the solutions. If you have been identified as a teacher, your application will be accepted and you will receive an e-mail notification.

From this point on, you will have access to all solution notes.

What is my user name?

Via the ‘password forgotten’ link on the login page, you can have an e-mail sent to you with your user name and instructions on how to reset your password.

 

Please note that the registration only works with the user name, not with the e-mail address.

My password doesn’t work.

Please note that the registration only works with the user name, not with the e-mail address.

Please pay attention to the use of upper and lower case when entering your user name and password. The user name must not contain any spaces or letters with an umlaut (ä, ö, ü).

Why was my application for registration rejected?

Sample answers may only be accessed by teachers.

Applications for registration are checked carefully, which may include verification with your school secretariat. Perhaps the e-mail address on your application was not known to the secretariat, or we did not receive a reply to our request for confirmation.

I haven’t received an e-mail confirming my application for registration.

Please check your e-mail spam/junk folder. Automatic confirmation e-mails can sometimes be categorised as spam.

I have forgotten my password. How can I get a new one?

You can have the password reset on the login page, via the ‘password forgotten’ link. You will then receive an e-mail with further instructions.

If no e-mail reaches you, this means either the e-mail address or the user name you entered are incorrect, or the e-mail landed in your spam/junk folder.

How can I change the password of my user account?

Sign in on login page. At the top of the page just below your user name, you will find the menu entry «change password».

How can I change the e-mail address of my user account?

Sign in on the login page. At the top of the page, you will see the ‘Profile’ item. On this page you can adjust all your details, except your user name.

How can I set English as the default language for iconomix.ch?

In your browser, choose English as your preferred language, e.g. in

  • Firefox:
    Preferences > Content > Languages
  • Internet Explorer:
    Internet options > General > Appearance > Languages
  • Edge:
    Controlled by Windows language settings.
    Windows button > Region and Language > Preferred Languages

The website will then automatically appear in English.

Where do I find sample answers?

The sample answers to the individual learning units are on the page of the unit in question under ‘Documents’.

They are visible only to logged-in users. Sample answers may only be accessed by teachers.

What are the technical requirements for iconomix?

A computer with internet access, an up-to-date web browser and Acrobat Reader should be sufficient to use iconomix without any problems.

Can online simulations be saved and used again later?

  • In ‘Pitgame’ the game parameters are set in accordance with the goods and participant numbers. Opening a game with the same settings makes it possible to prepare examples in advance (e.g. to print playing cards) and to play them later.
  • For ‘Mopos’, there are four defined scenarios that can always be opened. In random mode, the ‘game number’ makes it possible to replicate the situation later.
  • Urbanias’ makes it possible to save game conditions as URLs and to return to the game later using the URL.
