The latest edition of «Economic Trends» is available. It is based on the SECO publication of the same name. The topics covered are the current economic situation and the forecast for economic developments in Switzerland based on assumptions about the global economy.

The Coronavirus leaves incisive traces. The global economy has experienced one of the fastest and deepest slumps ever recorded. In Switzerland, short-time working cushions unemployment, but GDP is forecast to decline by 6,2 percent.

Coronavirus: the epidemiological curve

Richard Baldwin writes about the epidemiological curve from an economist's perspective on VoxEU.org, the policy portal of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). Baldwin is Professor of International Economics at the Graduate Institute in Geneva and founder and editor-in-chief of VoxEU.org.
